I will never forget the day when I first landed my feet to Baguio. . .
It was my first time being in Baguio. I can feel the chilly air embrace me and the first thing I did when we arrived by the station was to blow and enjoy the fog coming out of my mouth. The first thing that surprised me was the billboard of ROBI ♥ (--YEAH--). . .
We took a nap at our dorm as we set ourselves for the upcoming activities that NLT has in store for us.
SEPTEMBER 5. Morning. I went to the bathroom sleepy but when I poured the cold water all over me, I felt that my senses has awaken because of the seemingly ice water. We first had a tour at the Mines View Park then we went to SM Baguio to have our lunch.
Before the Opening Program on the night of September 5, we saw Miguel Agila, the youngest recording artist from Warner Music, and took pictures of him. I have noticed that he wasn't talking so I concluded that maybe, he's still shy. Some of us asked for his autograph but when Miguel went away to prepare for his perfoemance, we laughed at his autograph because it's like the handwriting of a grade school student.
When we entered the Benitez Hall, there were so many people and we found it hard to find a seat. We saw vacant seats on the side of the hall and we sat there though it would be hard for us to view the speakers and the performers on stage. Mr. Joy G. Pelaez gave his speech and mantioned Marianeth Amper who killed herself out of desperation. He also mentioned how this E-bound world affects our relationship with our friends. We were entertained by Miguel Agila and Nanette Inventor. When it was Miguel's turn to perform, that was the first time that I've heard his voice. He's still a kid, I can observe that from his talking voice and he's a man with his singing voice. I really enjoyed the performance of Nanette Inevtor becuase she puts jokes whenever she sings. She really made me laugh my heart out!
After the Opening Program, we took pictures with the two hosts, Kuya PJ and Kuya Ian. Kuya PJ is really cute and hi hair looks like Sir Escobar's and Kuya Ian is so funny. He kicked boredom away. We went back to our dorm with happy hearts.
SEPTEMBER 6. I woke up 3:00 in the dawn to wake Jezreel and Michelle but they don't want to stand up so I took a nap. I woke up at 4:00 but they still wouldn't woke up until 4:30 came and at last, they finally woke up! Aaahhh!!! For the second time, I took a bath at the ice-cold water. It was I, Jezreel and Michelle who wre in-charge of the food so we have to fall in line early so that we will have our meals on time.
In the evening, we were entertained by Jimmy Bondoc, a singer. I really admire hus guitar playing because some of it were pure plucking (hahahaha..... I remember someone♥) He let us sing with him that made us enjoy his performance. We sang songs like With you, I'll be, Let me be the one, Crazy for you and others. With the help of Mrs. Giron, we were able totake pictures with jimmy Bondoc. Ah. . .another memorable moment. . .
SEPTEMBER 7. It was Ma'am Giron's birthday and my day-off.(meaning, I don't belong to any of the 3 committees on that day). I have planned of sleeping the whole day but no one wants to join me at the dorm so I was forced to walk around the Teacher's Camp. We went to SM Baguio to buy supplies but when I got off the FX Taxi, my slippers accidentally snapped! The good thing was we were already at Sm so I can look and buy for new slippers to replace the snapped ones.
In the evening, we were a bit late and there were already too many people outside the Benitez Hall. When the doors were opened, it became a riot!!! The crowd was a bit incontrollable but because I'm determined toenter the hall, I climbed the window. . .(what an ungirly manner!). I was then, lucky to get inside and I was able to help my friends get inside too but . . . . . my bag was LOST!!! it slipped off my shoulder while I was climbing the window. Worse, I was punched by a girl trying to get inside!!! she punched my nose! OUCH! It really hurts! I was crying then, but I asked a favor to a guy over the window. He found my bag and gave it to me. Ah, it was a great relief for me! But still, my nose hurts and I thought my nose was bleeding but it was something else.(you know =>). I think, my crying was a good strategy for me to pass in the crowd. The people paved way for me because I was crying. Ahahahahaha!!! I'm such a naughty girl!
After the "drama", I became lucky because I was able to take a seat in front, nearest the stage. When the Program started, Kuya Ian and Kuya PJ said that there would be two PDA SCHOLARS who will be with us. Noel Cabangon performed first and after that, the two competing parties for the NFSSG (National Federation of the Supreme Student Government), PULSO and the SMILE party, gave their platforms of Governement. Our delegation will be supporting the SMILE Party because the candidate from Region I, Jessica Badua, came from that party. The candidates were good but I feel that I'm better than some of them. I konw myself, I am confident about myself. After the Miting de Avance, Kuya Ian and Kuya PJ revealed that the two PDA Scholars were BEA and IÑAKI. Iñaki was the second to perform. After he sang, he went down the stage to interview someone. I was very nervous and I was thinking of what to answer because it might be me he would be asking. To my surprise and to my disappointment, it was my seatmate whom he interviewed! I was unfortunate =(. I wasn't chosen! The "exposure" flew away. . . . . (hehehehe. . . ). After Iñaki was Bea with the 24-beat dancers followed by the local HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL CHARACTERS. I was really entertained that night.
After the program, we went back to the dorm to have a little party for Ma'am Giron. There were spaghetti, fried chicken and softdrinks. We invited Dinglee Berto to join us. After the "eating", we had so many picture takings. I went to bed 3:00 in the dawn.
SEPTEMBER 8. After two hours of sleep, I am up again at exactly 5:00 in the morning. My eye bags were bulging because of incomplete sleep but I have to do so because I am in- charge of the Plenary Session. Together with Maricar, Thea and Geomelle, we were able to go to Benitez Hall and take good seats. We heard lectures about "Leading from where you are" and "Environmental Leadership". It was also on that day when the former first lady, IMELDA MARCOS gave a special Plenary Session. She is a tall woman w/ a very light complexion but she sweats heavily. She taught us how to project an image worthy of respect and I really like her Fuchsia Filipiñana.
In the afternoon, we heard lectures from Ms. Carelle Mangaliag. She told us the 3 qualities of a person namely visionary, auditory and feeler. I possess the three types but I'm more on Auditory. She taught us how to detect whether a person is lying. Now, I know when my peers are lying.
We were late in the evening that's why we weren't able to get a good view of SAM CONCEPCION. Iñaki, Bea, High school musical teens and the 24-beat dancers came back to entertain us but we didn't get a good picture of them. After the program, we followed Sam Concepcion at the Executive Cottage. He was so near to us but there are still students who wants to get closer to him. I pushed my luck, raised my camera trying to get a stolen shot of him. I looked at my camera, the picture was sooooo good and was sooooo close only, I got a shot of his back. =<
SEPTEMBER 9. Huhuhuhuhu. . . This was our last day and we wore our black NLT T-shirt on this day. We went to the Benitez Hall for the Plenary Session again. There, I saw Anthony Pangilinan but the whole Benitez Hall was full so we decided to watch the Session on the LCD Projector outside the Benitez Hall.
In the afternoon, we joined Group A for the break-out session. There, we meet Kuya Shannon, Kuya Vico, Kuya Carl, Ate Tal and Kuya Cash ♥ (he's cute . . . he looks like Reuben of Cueshe). In the break-out Session, we have learned the breath-taking Benitez Wave. Gosh! It's so good because it's like a human wave. After the break-out session, Mr. Geronimo Sy gave his lectures. I participated religiously on the talk and when Mr. Sy asked for participants, I courageously went up the stage. We were divided into groups and I belong to the Red group. the game was to hammer your lapwith your left hand while the right hand is sliding on your lap at the same time. It was hard but I managed to do it. Our group was very successful that we even beat the teachers. After mr. Sy's talk, was Kuya Ian's talk. Wow! He really moved me! He's really a good host, entertainer anda trainer. I really like him and I was inspired by him.
After kuya Ian's talk would be the closing proram. Yehey! Iam sitted on the front seat! After Mr. Bacani's talk, SAM MILBY entertained us. Yahoo! He's really handsome and cute! Luckily, I got the chance to hold his hand and take good pictures of him. After the event, the student went to ask autographs and took pictures
